Introducing

EDITH MCBEAN

"I am deeply passionate about elephants. Up until 2014, I had focused my conservation attention and funds on African elephants. I met Mark Shand and Ruth Ganesh in New York and became a donor to the Elephant Family and its conservation work in India. I’m excited about The Great Migration; its partnership with Art & Newport and the impact this venture holds for projects helping to create human-wildlife coexistence. I’m ready, willing and able to help in any way I can - and this includes driving a truck and migrating the herd!"

A long-time advocate for conservation, Edith has channeled her passion for species protection and habitat conservation into active leadership positions for more than three decades. She is Vice Chair of African Parks Foundation and has served on the International Council of Advisors for the National Geographic Society. She is a board member for the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya and The Newport Restoration Foundation, as well as serving on the board of the Rainforest Trust from 2014-2023. Edith is a leading advocate for elephant and rhino protection efforts across Africa and has broadened her reach to large cat conservation in Asia, North and South America, and Africa. A native of California and England, she resides in New York City.
